Citizens

You! And your fellow human beings who live around you. Chosen by democratic lottery to be super representative of the area covered by the assembly.

The Commissioner

They set up the assembly. Usually a public authority (like a local council), or a civil society organisation. Responsible for ensuring the assembly achieves actual outcomes.

The Implementation Team

Commissioned to run the entire assembly. All of the responsibilities for implementing all aspects of the assembly are put into their hands.

The Stakeholders

Selected to ensure all points of view of the issue being discussed are represented. They help influence how the assembly is designed. Super important to get this group right to avoid bias.

The Evidence Group

In charge of deciding what evidence or information should be presented to the assembly. They should give a learning experience that’s as comprehensive and inclusive as possible.

The Facilitators

Here to ensure all voices are heard equally and citizens remain bought in and taken care of throughout. Assemblies can be places where deeply felt differences are dissolved – because of these wizards.

The Commentators

Both experts (eg. academics) and advocates (eg. politicians or activists). They’ve been called in to give evidence or information – presenting research, viewpoints or experiences connected to the issue.
